Don't Believe The Hype
November 06, 2004

Don't Believe the Hype!
There are only 14 days left until the November 2004 Presidential election
and now the focus is on the polls. Today we are told that if the election were
held today, that George Bush would win the race. Unfortunately, this
information may sway some voters to stay at home on Election Day.
However, the reality is that in the 2000 election, 11 out of 12 of the
major polls - virtually every single poll (according to CBS news) got the
election results wrong.
Why was this the case? One of the major reasons why is because the polls
undercount inner-city voters and voters of color (when was the last time you
heard of an African American getting a phone call from a major election polling
organization?).
What does this say to us? It says don't believe the hype! Get out and
vote.
It is our Christian duty to vote no matter what the polls say. Indeed
the Apostle Paul said in Romans 13:1 says, "Let every person be subject to
government authority," and this includes participating in the electoral
process.
So please get out and vote on November 2, and call or email your
friends and relatives especially those residing in
Pennsylvania,
Ohio, Florida, Missouri, Michigan, and other swing states, and tell them that
God expects them to vote!
Peace and Blessings,
