I Am

Dr. Mark Dean an African American Engineer.

If you are on this page, your are using a personal computer.  And, guess what?  We have an African American to thank for coming up with the ideas that make us able to use the computer to learn, to play games, to listen to music and all the other fun things we do on the computer.

Dr. Mark Dean was instrumental in designing the personal computer.  He has three of the nine initial patents designs for personal computers.  A patent is what people get that says that their idea belongs to them.  It says they thought of the idea first and that no one else can say it is theirs or use it without paying them.

IBM is a very large place that makes computers and Dr. Dean works there.  IBM is celebrating 20 years of the personal computer and we should celebrate all that Dr. Dean has done for world of computers.
