Bible Story

Jesus walked with his disciples from village to village serving and healing and spreading the word of God.  One day He asked his disciples, "Who do people say I am?"

The disciples answered Jesus by saying that some people said Jesus was John the Baptist and that He was Elijah.  Other people said he was just a prophet.

Well, Jesus listened to these answers and of course He knew the answers He would received.  But, then Jesus asked an even more important question.  "But what about you?" he asked. "Who do you say I am?"

And, Peter answered Him saying "You are the Christ".

Let's Chat

When we ask a stranger who we are, it's okay if they say they don't know.  But, it's a whole different thing when we ask our family and our friends and our pastor and they don't know.  Our Bible story today tells about Jesus when He was here on earth serving the people and God.  He wanted His disciples to think about things.  Those who didn't know Jesus said He was all sorts of things.  But, Jesus wanted the disciples, His followers to know that it was more important that they knew who He was.

If we are going to teach others about Christ, we have to be sure we know who He is.  Do you know who Christ is?  Just as important do others know who you are?  Do they know you love Christ?
