Jesus as a Boy

Every year his parents went to Jerusalem for the Feast of the Passover.  When he was twelve years old, they went up to the Feast.  After the Feast was over, his parents left to return home.  They didn’t realize that Jesus was not with them.  They traveled for a whole day and never knew that he wasn’t with them.  They thought he was with some of their relatives or one of the other families traveling home.  Then they started their relatives and friends if they had seen Jesus.  When they did not find him, they went back to Jerusalem to look for him.

After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting with the teachers.  He was listening to them and asking them questions.  Everyone who heard him was amazed, because Jesus understood and gave very good answers.

When his parents saw him, they were couldn’t believe their eyes.  His mother said to him," Son, why have you treated us like this?  Your father and I have been so worried and we have been looking every where for you."

Jesus asked them why they were looking for him.  he asked. "Didn't you know I had to be in my Father's house?"  Mary and Joseph  did not understand what he was saying to them.  Then Jesus left with his parents and returned home to Nazareth.  Jesus obeyed his parents.
